Cyril Keattch Award

The next competition will be held in 2010

Prize - to be announced 

The competition is held biennially.

The winner of the 2010 competition will receive a sum of money towards attending an international Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry Meeting (the details will be announced in early 2010)

Alternatively, entrants may register their interest by contacting the TMG secretary

Conditions

Entrants must be resident in the UK. Those wishing to apply should have normally worked for ten years or less at the post-graduate level; any periods of leave (such as, but not limited to, maternity leave) should be documented. Candidates should send a full curriculum vitae listing their name, age, education, appointments held and their research responsibilities. Candidates should list all forms of publications already accepted, including patents, consultancy reports and teaching packages. When listing jointly authored work, candidates should give all authors names and indicate the candidates contribution as principal investigator or co-investigator. The work must be:

1. Original, i.e. not a review.

2. The entrant's own work, i.e. not part of a team or collaboration.

3. In the field of thermal methods of analysis.

Competition

The competition: A 1000 word essay summarizing the entrant's work should be submitted to the local organiser

The submissions will be reviewed by a sub-set of the TMG committee. The authors of the best three entries will then be invited to give a 30 minute presentation at TAC 2010.

The winner of the competition will then be announced at the TAC 2010 conference dinner.
